ABOUT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
Our Vision
Our vision for CE at Mountain View is threefold:
• To provide Biblical teaching to build up and equip the men women, youth, and children of our fellowship through the study of both the Old and New Testaments, and to evaluated and teach other materials that are consistent with and help to explain Biblical truths.
• To promote through teaching the key Biblical concepts of discipleship and encourage service to the local body;.
• To provide opportunity, training, and mentoring for those interested in joining MVCA’s"Teach Corps".
Scripturally Inspired
Mountain View’s Christian Education (CE) program is scripturally inspired by 2 Peter 1: 5-10, and is one of the core ministries of the church.
"But also in this very thing, bringing in all diligence,
• filling out your faith with virtue,
• and with virtue, knowledge;
• and with knowledge, self-control,
• and with self-control, patience,
• and with patience, godliness,
• and with godliness, brotherly kindness,
• and with brotherly kindness, love.
For if these things are in you and abound, they make you to be neither idle nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
For he in whom these things are not present is blind and cannot see afar off and has forgotten that he was purged from his sins in the past.
Therefore, brothers, rather be diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you do these things, you shall never fall.
We accomplish these goals through child and adult Sunday Morning School and Sunday evening adult electives."

Why does God allow suffering in the world? How could a loving God send people to Hell? Why isn’t Christianity more inclusive? These are just a few of the questions and doubts even ardent believers wrestle with today. This study will look at list of the most frequently voiced “doubts” skeptics of the church in general raise and the reasons for faith. Literature, philosophy, real-life conversations, and reasoning will be used to explain how faith in a Christian God is a soundly rational belief, held by thoughtful people of intellectual integrity with a deep compassion for those who truly want to know the truth. Have doubts yourself? Join us as we look for "real" answers. Facilitators: Mark Hooyer The God I Never KnewPlace : Room 201
Who is the Holy Spirit, and exactly what does He do? Many people find the Holy Spirit mysterious, confounding—even controversial. Why is the third person in the Godhead—the one Jesus said would be the believer's ultimate source of truth and comfort—the source of such confusion? The Holy Spirit's chief desire is for relationship--to offer us the encouragement and guidance of a trusted friend. Come join us as we move beyond the theological jargon, religious tradition, and cultural misconceptions to clarify what the Holy Spirit promises to do in our lives. It's time to experience the Holy Spirit in a fresh, new way—to meet the God you may have never known. Facilitators: Duane Coble |
